Sting's fourth solo studio album, album Ten Summoner's Tales came out on 9th March 1993, to both critical and commercial acclaim. The record peaked at number two on both the UK and US album charts, and went triple platinum in just over a year. By March 12th ’93, Sting and his band were out promoting the record, which began with three nights at London’s prestigious Albert Hall. From there, the group toured across continental Europe, returning to the UK on April 19th for three more dates at the Albert Hall. Next up, the ensemble headed west, to begin the North American leg of the tour, and it was while in the US that the group played two shows at the Soldier’s Place Stadium in Chicago on June 18 and 19. But the day before these concerts, Sting and the guys showed up at the Westwood One Studios to perform tracks from, and speak about, the new release with Billboard editor-in-chief, and former, senior honcho at Rolling Stone, Timothy White. Recording a full hour of music and chat, all of which was transmitted live across the USA via the Westwood One network, the programme became a legendary performanceFeaturing a fascinating selection of tunes from the new record played live but stripped down, and in quite remarkable versions, plus a superb selection of interviews with the man himself, the entire show is now available on this new CD for the first time.
