Formed in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, England, in 1979, Marillion emerged from the post-punk music scene in Britain and existed as a bridge between the styles of punk rock and classic progressive rock, becoming the most commercially successful neo-progressive rock band of the 1980s. The Fugazi Tour began on February 11th ’84 at Leeds University, and concluded in Wakefield on August 27th. In between times, the group performed in France, Germany. Netherlands, Switzerland and throughout the UK, plus they played selected shows in Canada and the USA. Of all the gigs Marillion performed on the Fugazi tour, their concert at the Netherland’s annual Pinkpop Festival on June 11th ranks among the finest.
