In August 1990 the debut Alice In Chains album Facelift arrived and instantly became a keystone of the emerging grunge sound. It generated two hit singles in 'Man In The Box' and 'Sea Of Sorrow' and the band went out on tour as an opening act for many of the heavy-hitters of rock and metal including Van Halen, Poison, Anthrax and Slayer, providing the link between those audiences and the alternative scene in Seattle. Coming before the major success of their multi-platinum opus Dirt, and prior to the drug issues that eventually derailed the group. This live performance at Sheraton La Reina, Los Angeles on September 15th 1990, for broadcast on syndicated radio, is considered by many fans to be one of the band's finest concerts, where they forcibly indulge in unleashing the majority of Facelift before a raucous and enthusiastic California audience. Timeline revisits this classic performance with a fully restored and professionally remastered original broadcast. Presented with background notes and photos.
