Vaughan wrote four of the record’s ten tracks; two songs were released as singles. The album went to #34 on the Billboard 200 chart and the music video for ‘Change It’ received regular rotation on MTV. In 1999, a reissue of the album was released, which includes an audio interview segment and studio outtakes. And it was during this period that the material now included on this new double CD collection was laid down. While the completed album remains a dynamic and wholly enjoyable listening experience for those SRV enthusiasts who remain satisfied with the final choices of takes decided upon by the group, the producer and no doubt the record company too, for those of us who would like nothing more than to delve a little deeper and to hear – probably for the first time - the recording process as it occurred almost 40 years ago now - this collection will serve us well.
