Pearl Jam’s 2005 North American/Latin American Tour, began on 29th August 2005 and ran through to December 10th the same year. The jaunt occurred while Pearl Jam took a break during the recording of its eighth, eponymous, studio album. It kicked off with a fundraiser on August 29, 2005 in Missoula, Montana at the Adams Event Centre, for Democratic politician Jon Tester, then playing The Gorge Amphitheatre in George, Washington on September 1, 2005, before crossing into Canada. For its Canadian cross-country tour, the band stopped in cities where it had never played before such as Saskatoon, Quebec City, St. John's, and Halifax. After touring Canada, Pearl Jam proceeded to open a Rolling Stones concert on the band's A Bigger Bang Tour on September 28, 2005 in Pittsburgh at PNC Park, then played two shows at the Borgata Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey. On November 22, 2005, Pearl Jam began its first Latin American tour. The tour included two shows in Santiago, Chile at Estadio San Carlos de Apoquindo, plus two in Buenos Aires, and five in Brazil. The band finished off 2005 with three shows in Mexico. During the tour, Eddie Vedder emphasised how much he missed Johnny Ramone, his friend and guitarist of the Ramones who died in 2004. As a tribute, the band played the Ramones’ ‘I Believe In Miracles’ at every show on the tour. Probably, the shows Pearl Jam performed in Chile on 22/23 November, were the tour’s highlights. And of these gigs, the second night was recorded for live FM Radio Broadcast. Now available in its entirety on this new 2CD set, this quite remarkable concert is sure to prove a delight for fans and collectors around the globe.
