Bringing together a host of rare Grateful Dead live material, this 5 CD box-set features broadcast recordings from the Dead from the glory years of the group’s time as America’s favourite concert draw.From the later years of the band’s career comes their dynamic show recorded at the Spectrum Theater in Philadelphia on 18th March 1995, just a few months before the death of Jerry Garcia - which pretty much signalled the end of the group. The Spectrum show was a stunning performance however and the full recording of this concert is now included on DISCS 1 & 2 of this set.Bouncing back to 1971, DISCS 3 & 4 here feature the Dead’s show at the Berkeley Community Centre on August 15th that year, and include both the early and late shows played that evening. DISC 5 contains the originals of no fewer than 25 cover versions that the Dead have recorded and, in many cases, made famous across their live career.
