Deliverance started with Pierre Duneau (vocals, Memories of a dead man) and Etienne Sarthou (guitar, AqME). Etienne sees in Pierre someone with whom he would be able to develop a new artistic expression, anchored to his roots and assertive, but also free from the rules often imposed in the extreme music scene. Therefore… a deliverance.Their first EP Doomsday, Please, released only on vinyl format, and their first album CHRST (Deadlight Records) were unanimously acclaimed by the critics, both in France and abroad. With tattoo artist Easy Sacha (owner of the Mystery Tattoo Club in Paris) at the bass, Deliverance finally welcomed their fourth member, Fred Quota (drums, BLVL) to solidify the project.
The band starts writing their 2nd album with the feeling of being at the dawn of a new era. They take the time to refine each track in order to express as accurately as possible the deep and complex feelings they want to convey. The black metal/sludge DNA of Deliverance is still very present, and even exacerbated at times, but also confronted with new post rock elements, Floydian psychedelia and even contemporary indie rock/electro components, which was something totally new in this musical genre.A Pandora’s box was open. The band was moving forward, experimenting and affirming its deliverance from the codes that stood between supposedly irreconcilable horizons. Their album Holocaust 26:1-46 is released at the beginning of 2020 and once again praised by the critics. They had made a name for themselves. But slowed down by the pandemic, the band will unfortunately not be able to defend the album on stage.
So they started writing a 3rd album with the desire to go even further and test their limits. Neon chaos in a junk-sick dawn opens a new ambitious chapter and sets the bar higher than its predecessors by creating a unique soundscape. This very ambitious project allows them to sign with the prestigious label Les Acteurs de l’Ombre, a guarantee of quality and a sign of the band’s constant artistic progression.Noticed by the Hellfest programming crew, the band is now preparing to defend their vision on stage and push this artistic project to the limit.
