Tierra Santa formed in 1997 in their hometown region of La Rioja in Spain. In the same year, they self-released their first album, "Medieval", catching attention mainly in their country thanks to a simple but effective sound, which pays tribute to Maiden first and Judas Priest second, but also brings out talent and expressiveness, helped by the use of the lyrics in their mother tongue.
The band started their promotional tour playing with other Spanish bands such as Avalanch and Mago de Oz, and also opened for Dio on his tour in Spain. By the end of that year, they signed with Locomotive Music, and in April 1999, the label released their second album, "Legendario", and a new edition of their debut, with new artwork. In the same year, they joined British metal act Iron Maiden's tribute album "Transilvania 666" (Locomotive), covering "Flight of the Icarus." Then they became more popular also outside Spain, with album after album (six more were released by Locomotive up to 2005, including a live album), touring also in the US.
Then a long silence, before a new album in 2010, and the other two following in 2013 and 2017. The new album "Destino" was released in 2022.
"Medieval", remastered from the 1st self-released print as source, is out for the very first time on Lp format and again available on CD.
